Hey Canada, Does Your Boss Force You To Get a Doctor’s Note Just to Take Sick Days?
Does your boss make you see a doctor just to prove you need a sick day? If that sounds like your workplace, we want to talk to you.
We’re investigating employers that force Canadian workers to get a doctor’s note just to prove they’re telling the truth when they ask to take a sick day.
Doctors criticize this practice as a waste of time and public resources.
The Canadian Medical Association calls it an “unnecessary public health risk” too.
Get in touch with us if this sounds like your workplace:
- Did your boss make you get a doctor’s note to take sick days in the last year?
- Have you gone to work sick in the last year because your employer’s strict sick leave rules are discouraging you from taking time off?
- Do you have a copy of your employer’s policy on producing doctors’ notes from an internal human resources document? Do you have records showing your boss demanded a doctor’s note before letting you take sick leave?
